A free mobile app for foreign tourists, Visit Russia, was introduced in Dagestan
At the Travel HUB «Commonwealth» international forum, held in Dagestan from October 1st to 3rd, the Visit Russia mobile app, a free Russian digital service for foreign tourists with an artificial intelligence module, was presented as part of the session «Digital Bridge: Technologies for Developing CIS Tourism.»
The app was presented by Dmitry Manin, Executive Director of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) and CEO of the RTN-Ratanews media holding.
The Visit Russia project was initiated and supported by the Russian tourism community through the RTI, which unites over 3,500 enterprises in 64 regions of the country.
The initiative has been awarded the status of a leadership project by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), confirming its social and national significance.
Visit Russia is a one-stop service that brings together all the necessary tools for organizing a comfortable and affordable trip: booking air tickets and hotels, obtaining health insurance, VIP services, assistance with obtaining an e-visa, and 24/7 customer support in 36 languages.
Of particular importance is the artificial intelligence module: a digital guide that «speaks» 36 languages and assists foreign tourists with everyday matters—from choosing a restaurant to finding a currency exchange or key attractions. This makes traveling in Russia as simple and comfortable as possible for international guests.
VisitRussia supports tourists at every stage of their journey:
1) Trip Planning — the app lets you check entry regulations, popular destinations, and estimate flight and accommodation costs. The app also includes the Hospitality «GCCpreferred» program, offering recommendations tailored to Gulf citizens’ preferences.
2) Preparation — the app makes it easy and convenient to purchase airline tickets, pay for hotels, purchase insurance, register an e-SIM card, and arrange VIP services. Assistance with obtaining an e-visa and a convenient payment service are also included.
3) Border Crossing — the app provides information on formalities and the border crossing process, and the necessary documents can be securely stored in your personal account. Everything you need is always at your fingertips.
4) The VisitRussia digital guide speaks 36 languages and helps you choose key sights and events for the perfect trip. Within Russia, you can book tours, transfers, and get restaurant and shopping recommendations—all with quick access.
5) Returning home—you can save your travel documents in the app for your return trip. Users earn loyalty program points for reviews and photos.

By implementing modern digital services, the project contributes to the development of tourism exports, fostering a positive image of Russia as a modern and technologically advanced destination, and achieving the target of increasing tourist traffic to 52 million people and tourism export revenue to $28.6 billion by 2035.
«Visit Russia is not just an app, but a digital key to exploring our country. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it was created by the tourism community itself for millions of travelers. «We’re making Russia more accessible and understandable by using technologies that speak the language of every visitor. This is a living example of how grassroots initiatives, in partnership with government agencies, are driving international tourism dialogue,» — said Dmitry Manin.
